"But on Thursday, Morales-Ellis told Sobomehin she was declining the offer and could not take on additional responsibilities, according to an email provided to the Weekly."
Her faithful lackey through and through. Hopefully, Lorena's resignation is the next email from her. NEXT!

"too little, too late"? After all the issues this person has caused (Reassigning principals, disciplinary action on people who complain, financial mismanagement, nepotism, etc. ) they should have terminated her contract a year ago, a simple suspension WITH pay is not enough. They need to get rid of Goff and clean house then work on getting the schools up to an acceptable level of education that the students deserve.

The article reads: The superintendent's supporters, including some trustees, have credited her with improving a long-struggling district, including by opening the comprehensive middle school and bringing more arts and STEM programming to Ravenswood.
The so called supporters are the incumbents, Pulido and Wilson. The opening of the comprehensive middle school is not comprehensive at all. It is actually a mess. The super went for it without carefully planning, she made it look like it was going to be a big thing, but now the comprehensive has been abandoned and it is awful, they do not have enough yard supervision, special education teachers, special education aides, the classrooms are felty. There are so many fights. She made a large middle school, but did not put the main resources in place to make sure it runs smoothly, and these board members are given her credit for that? Yes she it is her fault that things are so bad at Ravenswood, my child is not getting her special education minutes, and it is no just mine. I am so glad Gloria is out of the lives of our students and she cannot longer cause them harm. Please board members keep her out forever. Do not allow her back, even if Lorena does not want to help out though this difficult times. This just shows how loyal she is to Gloria, and she would be a very bad choice to take her job. Lorena is making it believe like she has been offered the superintendent position, but do not be fooled it is not true. She could never do this job. If I was her, I would quit before thy fire me. If the district decides to of an audit, they will find out that Lorena always filled GHG steps, and she as guilty as Gloria. They are like sisters along with Alex Padilla and Maria Sevilla. I heard that Toni Stone is really like a stone, she has no heart, and treats employees like dirt, Board President Sobomehin, please looked into her too, she should have never gotten that job; it is costing the district tons of money because they have to pay consultant to teacher her how to do the job. They can teacher her how to do the paper work, but will never teach her a good how to treat people because she does not have a good heart. People are born with it, and unfortunately, she was born without one and as a result she does not have good relationships with the employees. Thanks Ms. Gaona, Sobomehin, and Fitch for taking this important decision. You have not giving us a reason why is is on leave, but we do not need one; she did no many awful things, and had to be the result of one or more those things that that finally caught up with her for good. As for you Pulido and Wilson, you should be responsible of paying Gloria the money for staying home, since it was your decision to renew her contract when everything was loud and clear that she was not doing her job well enough to renew it. And knowing that you went for it and renew it. I guess you never thought that the community would be rising up, and put someone else at the board. Your lost, we do not trust Pulido or Wilson anymore, and they should be recalled ASAP, even if it costs the district. Keeping them will end up costing a lot more just like GHF. That shall be the next step for us voters.

I remember the short-lived tenure of Ravenswood superintendent LaDawn law who wanted to emphasize reading and was fired, as far as I know, because teachers would have to learn a new teaching system if her emphasis on reading were to be implemented.

Providing an education to everyone is a right. If these school districts can’t do the job, are low par, let’s get rid of them and get them absorbed into a workable school district education district. Very simple solution! Or do the rich residents, don’t want to share?

Nice going here, fellow citizens.
Shame is on you for slinging mud without respecting due process.
Prime example why the Country is in the dumpster.

Due Process - thanks for the big laugh. Being placed on paid leave is one way to work their due process. It's great to have a board majority now who are willing to follow the rules. Just because you don't agree with what they're doing doesn't mean they're doing it wrong, but nice try.

Hmmm--
Due process didn't say anyone was doing anything wrong. The comment said people weren't respecting the process before slinging mud. You missed the entire point of that comment. I hope all of this turns out for the best. The students, families, and teachers all deserve to be in a district that is thriving and that provides the resources for every child. Unfortunately, I don't see all of that in any district. Every district has flaws--and yes, even the "rich" ones. It's the sad but true reality. It stretches all across the state and nation.

Teacher - how aren't they "respecting the process"? The board is following the rules. The comments from the public have nothing to do with due process.

Hmm Read my comment again. I never said anyone was not going through the correct avenues and nobody said the board wasn't following the rules. Due process said people aren't respecting the process before judging. Ever hear of innocent until proven guilty? Yes, the board is doing what it needs to do but there isn't a verdict until it's over. As i said, I hope this all turns out for the best. I really do. I'm not happy with how things are and I think there are a lot of shady things that went on. I'm waiting to see how it all plays out before I start slinging mud at anyone. You do you and you're entitled to your opinion.
