Since it appears that this is one (or maybe two burglary groups), their brazen and recently accelerated break-ins will hopefully lead to an arrest soon.

Atherton:

Easy pickings!!

I’ve been watching the Dailey Stats from Menlo Park... no burglaries within the last week?

Time for the Sheriffs Office to take over!

There was a spate of burglaries here which prompted us to organize simplified neighborhood watch - really just a group email list and a google doc spreadsheet shared among us including our address and contact information so that we could reach each other if needed. A few years later it proved to be effective in catching and prosecuting a parolee who spent a night breaking into homes here, just from spreading the news quickly and a neighbor had video of the suspicious vehicle with the plates. He was convicted and I understand that some or all of the stolen goods were actually returned. Even though Atherton and this neighborhood are different in scale, perhaps it could also work there. We broke off into subsections with an admin for each area, and the admins are on a group email list so we can email just the smaller area or forward to the other admins who would forward to their area at their discretion. Honor system in place not to abuse the email list. No complaints in the 6+ years.
