There are so many vehicles driving around Menlo Park and Redwood City with very obvious illegal paper plates. There is no enforcement on vehicles with paper plates and now they're being used to avoid bridge tolls and commit crimes.

Governor Brown signed a new state law to get rid of the old unnumbered dealer tags, beginning next January. Hopefully this will make our streets a little safer.

Law enforcement agencies have requested that we report these non-registered cars -- but they haven't told the SMC Sheriff's Office dispatchers that they have requested the public' assistance.

Don't bother calling them into SMCo unless you'd like a scorching scolding from an ignorant dispatcher. I was accused by one of harassing poor people.

When authorities request public help in reducing crime, they must respect and value our efforts to do so.
