"Protect our environment and your family. Never flush meds down the toilet or throw them in the trash." Posted on the San Mateo County Environmental Health Services blog, this message is part of a stepped up push to educate the public and promote the safe disposal of unwanted and expired medicines.

The law should be if you are a pharmacy you must have a disposal kiosk at each retail outlet/store. Walgreens, Pharmaca, Costco, Safeway, Target, Walmart, CVS, etc.
And not just people meds but pet meds too.

According to the map, most CVS stores as well as many independent pharmacies have these bins. I wonder why Walgreens does not participate? I'm taking my business to CVS now. Thanks for posting this article.
