Menlo fire board to consider proposal on revenue sharing

A proposal to restrict future fire boards from agreeing to share district tax revenues with other agencies without prior approval from voters will be on the agenda of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District board when it meets on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

This proposal is, in my opinion, Mr. Carpenter's way of saying that since he will no longer be on the Board after pledging not to run again, he does not trust future Boards. Therefore, he will hamstring future Boards from having the flexibility the current Board has. Totally outrageous to constrain future Boards from what they may perceive as the best way to proceed. I'm sure we won't have to wait long for Mr. Carpenter to comment and point out why his proposal to give future Boards less authority than the Boards on which he has presided is so righteous.
