Draeger's rethinking its loading zone

Whatever is decided, it must not adversely affect Draeger's ability to do business. Draeger's is one of the top reasons to live in or near Menlo Park. It is certainly one of the finest grocery stores in the country. Harming Draeger's ability to continue to serve Menlo Park would adversely affect the quality of life in Menlo Park. A three story multi-use building in what should be Draeger's loading zone will do nothing to enhance the quality of life in Menlo Park.

1. Draegers needs a loading zone. 2. We do NOT need a 3-story building on Menlo Avenue or Evelyn Avenue

The owners of this piece of property certainly deserve to build so long as they meet the zoning.

Remember the history here. Draegers originally leased this land which was required for their re-build many moons ago. When the lease expired, Dreagers refused to sign a new lease with much increased rent.

Instead they used their considerable political muscle to be allowed to use Evelyn basically as a loading zone; this thus froze out the land owners. The City should have never allowed this to occur.

Now these landowners want to develop, and they have every right to do so.

Draegers should be forced to buy up this land or find a new loading zone however inconvenient, elsewhere.

Regardless of what some readers write, fair is fair.
