Bay Area roadways among worst in state

Roads in the Bay Area are the worst in the state and in deteriorating condition, which is costing residents in the region thousands of dollars each year, according to a study released last week.

Wow a study has concluded our roads are bad. Well duuuhh. It ain't rocket science. All we get is studies and no action.

Here in Portola Valley and neighboring Woodside the roads seem to be just fine. Maybe even far above average. Other towns need to improve their roads, as it is a safety hazard. For example, when driving the narrow streets in Palo Alto I have almost had several accidents/sideswipes. Same in some residential areas of Menlo Park. I believe the solution would be to eliminate on-street parking, since that takes up a large portion of the road. Or limiting it to one side would also be sufficient.

Teach Caltrans a lesson and cut the gas tax. They don't need the money if they are letting the roads get that bad.
