Time for Security Cameras at the four entrances to Lindenwood? It would be easy & inexpensive to install them.

I agree with Lindenwood Resident, Atherton needs to install ALPRs at their town borders. Since it is a high income area it will attract shady characters, just like what happened here in PV. However, after installation of cameras there have been ZERO major burglaries or robberies. I think the criminals got the message—it’s incredibly easy for law enforcement to discern residents from non-residents and hence they know it would be incredibly risky to commit a crime.

Sounds like an inside job, since the burglaries have stopped.

Installing cameras is not inexpensive. To get a system with good resolution, control and download speed is more expensive than just going to Costco. ALPRs are expensive and need to be mounted properly to capture plates. So now the systems need to be installed properly and they are expensive to properly install. They are great tools. There are whole crews that traverse the Bay Area. Pure speculation that it’s an inside job. It’s tragic because you have a forum you can say anything you want without particular knowledge on the subject

Citizens should weigh the cost of ALPRs against the costs associated with the crimes in terms of police investigation, inconvenience for repair/replace, actual loss, insurance, etc. and, of general public safety and peace of mind.

One of the unique things about Lindenwood is limited access which makes ALPRs a reasonable solution. Not many neighborhoods can do this.

The cops are too busy trying to catch a cyclist rolling a stop sign. It's a big city wide crackdown and they cannot be everywhere. After some cyclists have been ticketed they can focus on these lesser issues.

No cameras. Just look at the Portola Valley ALPR's. A total waste, just a cheap psychological boost for the over active imagination.

A completely ridiculous notion.
