San Mateo County is building a new 37,000 square foot Regional/Emergency Operations center in Redwood City next to the Courthouse. Why does the District feel a need to duplicate this facility at its proposed Headquarters facility? How many emergency centers does the District feel it needs? How many can it staff?

There is nothing historic, or particularly attractive about the house at 114 Santa Margarita. Why would the District even consider moving it to another site? The costs of moving this dilapidated structure far outweigh the cost of demolition and construction of a new facility.

The chief's report on building a new Station 1 facility states the proposal was considered by the District Strategic Planning Committee on June 14, and it voted to present to the Board for decision. I attempted to read the minutes from the Strategic Planning Committee and found the last meeting minutes posted for this committee were from a meeting on March 5. Looks like another star chamber decision from the District. So much for transparency.
