MAJOR RED FLAG that Sheriff Bolanos doesn't agree with the court findings where the deputy and county were liable for the excessive use of force on an elderly couple...

With all the national incidents taking place, I can't believe Bolanos wouldn't say anything about making sure those don't happen here and would hands down side with staff. I get that you want to make a good environment for employees, but the Sheriff is accountable to the people of the county. Blanket disagreement with the criminal justice process outcome is like throwing the people of the county under the bus.

Melville has an important point, pay attention to what's happening and train people to make sure it doesn't happen. Clearly, an incident happened here, and Bolanos is trying to defend it, rather than be progressive and prevent it.

Illegally Appointed to Sheriff by the Supervisors on July 12, 2016, a Coup led by Don Horsley to give Mr. Bolanos a $600,000 advantage in the election and also insure his son's employment with the Sheriff's Office.

April 21, 2007 Carlos Bolanos was caught/detained/transported to LVMPD for several hours.
Open release he launches a misinformation campaign to the media.

The women and girls Bolanos and his buddy Munks exploited at 3474 Eldon in Las Vegas were at-risk. Bolanos did and said nothing to help those at-risk human beings.

Ask Carlos Bolanos to explain the booking process used in Vegas on the night of April 21, 2007.

People have a right to a top law enforcement officer being beyond reproach. That cannot be said about Bolanos given Operation Dollhouse and the fact that it took many years to get the brothels in N. Fair Oaks cleaned up. It is virtually impossible to get a person elected to sheriff given the way the odds are stacked against any newcomer. He was best bud to Munks and got shoehorned in to a high salary position. It is time that such a position have some kind of ethics test. There was a similar problem in 1992 with the current county manager, but that got whitewashed also.

Reports are that Puschendorf hasn't even showed up yet? Hmmm

Speaking of endorsements: How about the San Mateo County Democrats going with no endorsement? That's a big deal. They pulled it for discussion and after 45 mins of talk about numerous incidents including Bolanos using a psychological evaluation to dismiss an outspoken Sergeant and the Vegas thing, they opted not to endorse Bolanos, who was considered the recommended candidate to start with since he's incumbent.

His own political party didn't have the faith in him to give an endorsement, which says a lot.

Heinz Puschendorf showed up and gave a 38 minute presentation, and answered questions.

He will be happy to show up in person and answer questions from the audience at any future event.

Not one reporter showed up.

I'm not convinced he wants to actually help at risk populations. Bolanos/Munks disbanded the sexual crimes task force after Vegas due to money. The civil grand jury recommended more investigations, now they have a surplus and have never made a move to reinstate it. Something tells me it's not a priority. I question commitment to mental health training, in an article about the 2nd year memorial of the young lady shot in HMB by an untrained deputy, they say that the SMART team has only responded to about 28% of mental health emergencies. I've heard it's not improved much. (Link goes to HMB review dtory)

Actually, Munks and Bolanos never explained to their staff why they were disbanding SHOP "Sexual Habitual Offender Program." It was abruptly done away with shortly after Munks and Bolanos returned from their Las Vegas trip in 2007. Bolanos may say now they did away with SHOP because of money, but at the time neither he nor Munks told the Sgt and two detectives who comprised the SHOP team why it was being disbanded.
