Menlo Park council members call for review of city's travel policy

In light of "several inquiries from our greater community," Menlo Park Councilman Rich Cline requested a review of the city's travel policy for council members by email Tuesday.

City council members need to own up to this being about much more than ‘travel’. There are serious questions about the propriety of not all, but some, of these junkets as having little to do with the city and much to do with council members self-promotion through their city status. And while they should be attending city meetings. Our council is likely lacking the spine to address this problem and the perceptions and distractions created, but we shall see.
