Bat bites runner in West Menlo Park

Around dusk on Tuesday, April 3, a bat with a wingspan of about 5 inches landed on the forearm of a 59-year-old Menlo Park woman and bit her as she was running along Stanford Avenue in West Menlo Park.

Good for you for not having ill will towards bat even after getting bit! I wonder what happened as they usually stay well clear of people.

I was bit last year by a stray bat in my house. I also went to Palo Alto Medical foundation and was referred to either Stanford or Sequoia hospital (PAMF does not stock the rabies vaccine). I went to Sequoia for the full series of shots. The final bill was $13,000!
