The picture caption says Viktoria is made of wood and she LOOKS just like she is made from driftwood; that is the cleverness of this sculpture. It is actually cast bronze that is made to look just like wood. You can’t touch, but next to the work is a sample of the cast bronze that you can touch. There is another beautiful Butterfield horse sculpture at SFO, Delta terminal I think.

Thanks, Barbara, for writing this wonderful, informative article about Judy Sleeth bringing art to children not only throughout our county, but throughout the U.S. I had no idea it had expanded beyond our communities!
I was an Art in Action volunteer at Roosevelt Elementary School in Redwood City when my sons were there in the 1990s. I had no background with art, but I enjoyed the Art-in-Action experience.
Thank you, Judy, for touching so many thousands of children's lives by bringing them Art in Action!
