Interesting how involved it is to get a bus shelter installed, I have been asking for one at El Camino and 39th Ave in San Mateo with no luck. This is a high traffic area with people going to San Mateo Medical Center all day and into the night.

Clearly Nikki Nagaya, Menlo Park's assistant public works director, has shown a can-do attitude and a commendable responsiveness to the Belle Haven community. She listened to their concerns and decided to so something about this one. When she met with obstacles, she found a resourceful way to overcome them -- instead of just giving up. I applaud this staff member's actions and the results. I've seen one of the new bus shelters and it looks great! Thank you Nikki Nagaya! While I don't know what went on before, regarding how long Belle Haven had to wait for their bus shelters, at least the area now has two.
