Since we've become a company town recently perhaps it's only fitting to have Facebook pay for the project.

This rendering reminds me of the Stonehenge scene in Spinal Tap.

This sounds like a great addition to Menlo! The original gate was near El Camino Roble-Live Oak Aves. area.

This seems to be trying to create an inflated/false sense of significance to a non-event. Are the insecurities of our community so needy that we need to erect a random and child-like set of arches to prove we have a history? If it wasn't for Edison in New Jersey, perhaps Menlo Park would be higher up the search rankings and we wouldn't feel to need to explain about two rather unremarkable Irish farmers. This is a waste of time and donations.

It would be terrific if Menlo Park had a HISTORY MUSEUM, much like many of its neighbors. In this way, the construction of the Menlo Gates would tie into an overall project.

Sheesh, the negative comments above- some people are just always going to be grumpy about things, aren't they? I think this is a nice project!
