City tries to battle Willows traffic madness

A little less than a month since Caltrans installed new traffic signals at the Willow Road/U.S. 101 interchange — and in rapid response to the debilitating congestion in the city's Willow neighborhood that has resulted — the Menlo Park City Council approved Dec. 5 a number of actions to address the problem.

"A number of people spoke in favor of right-turn restrictions farther down Willow Road, specifically banning right turns from Gilbert Avenue onto Willow Road. That option was ruled out, at least for now."

This is going to create a nightmare on Gilbert unless they close off the Chaucer bridge. Everyone inside of this area will be heading for Gilbert along with all the commuters cutting through from Palo Alto as this is the only way out.

How many hundreds of millions of your tax dollars is Caltrans spending on this project? What is the point?
