Menlo Park approved a 45-day moratorium on using land to grow cannabis outdoors for personal use.

I know the U.S. uses its military to protect poppy growers in Afghanistan while outlawing their product in the US, but I didn't expect my local city to outlaw
growing a product in my garden that I can purchase legally.

What a country.

There are two problems with the personal outdoor growing ban.

One, those growers will just move things indoors, which uses more electricity and often causes dangerous electrical fires. If Menlo Park is trying to be green and promote renewable energy this is a backwards step.

Or, two, those growers will get a medical marijuana card, which allows them to grow outdoor anyways. Thus enforcement of the ban will be nearly impossible as you can't tell if an outdoor garden is legal or not.
