Incumbent Karen Tate withdraws from Portola Valley school board election

Portola Valley School District board member Karen Tate, the only incumbent running for one of the three open board seats this November, has announced she is withdrawing from the race due after she was recently diagnosed with health problems.

I am so sorry to hear this bad news; Karen, thank you for your years of hard work in an un-fun job, on behalf of our community and the kids. Good luck... be strong.

This is a big loss for the PVSD community. Karen has done so much for our district, as well as doing so much of the "heavy lifting" to establish a new, permanent home for Windmill Preschool. Thank you Karen for all that you have done for the community, and best of luck going forward.
