This is mouse nuts. It is an insignificant mistake that is not newsworthy. The Almanac must be going through a really slow news cycle. Who cares.

Much Ado,
I disagree. This is an example of City Council members getting caught violating the regulations that they enforce on everyone one else. I was told that after a Stop-work order is given that the permit fees for the additional work is charged at twice the permit price. I am curious if that happened in this case.
Almanac Editor, that would be a good detail to include here. Were they charged double permit fees for the newly required permit fees?

And why is the Almanac leading with this non-story when the PC was also looking at a Tower on O'Brian with all sorts of public benefit? That looked like a real boondoggle! And why were some of the commissioners recused?

We had such high hopes for Drew Combs. Leadership is more than criticizing and complaining.

[Post removed; this is unfair comment, even for a public official.]

It is amazing that comments like "a lot to do about nothing" from Leonato go unchallenged.
Here we have a sitting councilman Peter Ohtaki with the collaboration of a sitting PC commissioner Henry Riggs, the architect, seeking to avoid paying the required fees for a renovation. This cannot be dismissed as merely an oversight. Henry Riggs has done many projects in MP and knows well the rules. They have been caught "red-handed" in this matter.
Congratulations to the Almanac for reporting on this. Now we need to know just how much in required fees, was Ohtaki seeking to avoid. We need to know what penalties have been accessed. A coverup should not be allowed. We need a full disclosure from the City.
