Good to know! Gap years are great for growth. Kids can travel to overseas for volunteering or short term jobs and are allowed to legally work in there. During this time, most of them are self-sufficient and are learning many financial lessons, i.e. budgeting. All the gap-year kids, I know have benefitted greatly from the experience and have formed numerous friendships around the world. Getting out of your comfort-level country can teach all of us that there really is a big, wonderful world out there. One of my friends son recently participated in mission humanitaire ( Web Link ) with his friends during their gap year and took a really good experience there.
