What's the environmental impact. Especially on the climate and weather throughout Menlo Park. The bay is where much of our breezes originate. How will these building impact those breezes and the weather? And with any development the traffic impacts must be weighed. Let FB build somewhere else.

Have FB conduct an Environmental Impact Study with special focus on environment of the marsh and the traffic at the Marsh Rd intersection before City approvals. The marshland and bay front area is extremely sensitive and we need to take the time to study. Slow down the process. Technically Facebook can wait until 2020 when the lease ends for current user - there is no absolute RUSH to make a decision now except that FB wants it now. The City can make Facebook wait... It's true. Also, what concessions are being made to the City specifically for environment in this area? I know there is money being contributed into a fund for affordable housing - but that's different. Asking to change height restrictions and zoning laws is different. Every ask FB has should have a stand alone cost... Significant environmental investment should be made to the Bayfront park or likewise to maintain its character. Remember - Developers will push and push and push limits until the City says no... I know - I work for one!

I would like to know if the residents of Menlo Park and the surrounding community benefits at all from the height modification, accelerated timeline, and other exceptions being considered?
As a resident, here's what I see: more buildings rising up to visibly mar the skyline and overall tranquility of the neighborhood, more lights that shine into our house and my 4 year old asking why it's so bright outside when it's bedtime, more pounding of construction throughout the day, overenrolled schools with high student teacher ratios, clogged roads that still need to be modified somehow to accommodate the changes in traffic, a park that's considered open space but employees only, and friends who have had the hardest time remodeling their house, fighting battles to get through the planning and building departments, but seeing Facebook consistently getting the rubber stamp.
