How could the budget be so large and we have deteriorating roads and parking lots? Where are all the promised improvements for downtown? None of the huge projects clogging our streets seem to be paying for infrastructure.
Please explain, city manager and city council

@taxpayer: "Please explain, city manager and city council"
It's right there in the pdf on the website, along with the last dozen or so budgets.
Grumbling on GP, or have specifics to offer? For example, to which "huge projects clogging our streets" do you refer?

Improved streets and parking lots can't be found in documents. They should be found around town. There is so much construction in neighborhoods, often with caravans of 18-wheelers that are carting away dirt for basement excavations, that neighborhood streets seem to be falling apart more quickly these days. Do the city's street construction standards need to be higher so the roads withstand heavier construction traffic?
@wow "clogging our streets" How about the equipment for the Santa Cruz project (not just on that street but on neighboring ones, too)? How about the new hotel on El Camino? How about the Menlo Gateway and Facebook projects? How about the project where Fosters Freeze was? That seems to be starting up with big vehicles, too. Stanford's project is coming.

"Improved streets and parking lots can't be found in documents."
You posted both before and after the workshop on the budget, the workshop listed in the title, the workshop that was right down the street from your neighborhood.
How did you like it? Didn't they answer your questions?
