Hurray for Windmill School! What an amazing space for young children to begin their educational journey in the heart of such a beautiful town. These students will be the future generation of our community. Interacting with nature, children will learn to love the outdoors and be the future ambassadors for protecting our environment. They will learn to eat healthfully by cultivating a garden, harvesting and using the fresh fruits/vegetables for snack. Well done!

This makes my heart so happy, as both an avid Windmill enthusiast and also a Portola Valley community member. This new home will mean so much to so many! Windmill will now be able to accommodate so many more eager students and families, and its new setting will further grant these children unique ways to learn through play. I watched one of my boys blossom during his time at this dear school and am currently watching the other do the same. Windmill has always been a feeling of home for me, and I am elated it now has the chance to expand that feeling to so many more people. The whole community will no doubt thrive as a result-- CONGRATS, WINDMILL!

Great school- sure!
But can Carter (the architect) lay off the kitsch? The fake windmill is more suited to putt-putt golf than good buildings. Given the fastidious reputations of the planning department, I'm surprised if they let this through.
