Menlo Park: Westbound Sand Hill Road reopens

Westbound Sand Hill Road, between Branner Road and Saga Way, which had been closed for an accident investigation, is now open for traffic, the Menlo Park Police Department announced at about 10 a.m. this morning.

Why does the media call these collisions "accidents" without any conclusion from the police investigation? Most police departments now call collisions "collisions" since the word "accident" naturally biases the investigation.
