How about letting the voters decide? The eyesore of a town center is embarrassing and needs to go. Enough with the obstruction tactics, let the other 7500+ people decide what is best for our town.

The voters DID vote on this issue already. We don't need another vote and we certainly don't need a "Town Center" that is absurdly overdone. This is quarters for local government.

Further, since many of staff are contractors, it's not likely we would have difficulty filling positions.

Put the money towards essential programs, please!

"Put the money towards essential programs, please!"

The most essential program is a new police station - and there are sufficient funds on hand to build that now.

Two major things have changed in Atherton in the past five years.

1) Private fundraising for the town center is below expectations despite a strong push.
2) Atherton has moved into a very solid financial position.

It's fair to have the voters re-evaluate their choice in light of these new facts on the ground.

Especially need an office for Sergeant Guarducci. He does us proud. I'd like to see us expanding the town center at greater expense to hire more police officers just like him.
