Elizabeth C. Peterson, a resident of Portola Valley and a partner in the Palo Alto law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, is starting the new year as a Santa Clara County Superior Court judge.

Edward Davila left the Superior Ct in March 2011 to become a Federal District judge. That's one heck of a long vacancy.
