I hope legislation will be introduced putting a stop to these no-cause tenant evictions. These evictions are destroying the lives of many people.

These poor families...and it's only going to get worse with rising rents. It would have been nice if the article had offered a little more background into the legal definition of "no-cause" eviction. I can figure out what it entails but the journalist could have provided more background and not just assume readers know.

I have been the victim of, and seen many cases lately of no cause eviction, most in the last 3 years. Many low income families do not know they can get help from Legal Aid, they feel they have no recourse. Landlords are doing this much more now so they can slap on a coat of paint or some minor upgrade and double the rent before any restrictions go into effect, and it is horrifying and unfair. We need resources to give us options for this unfair practice, as low income families already have few affordable housing options other than getting on a wait list for the few complexes that are available. I was on a wait list for 3 years. Please keep working families local.
