Guest opinion: More work needed on general plan before approval

At the outset, let us say collectively that we believe there are many positive attributes contained in the proposed general plan currently under consideration by the City Council.

I thank these 3 for taking a stand. Gridlock is ahead, and does not need to be worsened when Menlo Park can decide to tackle infrastructure before approving more growth. That should mean the upzoning near Facebook (too bad they already approved Facebook's expansion already), and projects proposed by stanford and greenhart on el camino. Our streets and neighborhoods can't absorb more.

It is truly unfortunate that Menlo Park isn't an island unto itself. Infrastructure improvements? Improve away. Won't make a difference if adjacent cities don't do the same. This is a REGIONAL issue. Blaming the MP Council for this problem is myopic.

@MV - so it is ok for Menlo Park's council to worsen the local situation? Someone has to show leadership to stop the charade. It is not ok to keep approving bigger and bigger commercial properties and inadequate amounts of housing in the midst of the traffic and housing crisis. The "Mom, it's not my fault" excuse is a poor one.
