How can Woodside Road/84 be made safer. Speed is a problem. Should there be traffic calming measures like Speed Humps, Speed Cameras, more police to catch speeders.

Do we need better crash barriers on the corners to stop cars and motorbikes rolling off the road?

Are there enough reflectors and painted marks on the road?

The speed limit on that road is too high for for speed humps. Crash barriers may just encourage more speeding. Narrowing the lanes with rumble strips (where there is enough space for a designated bike lane on the outside of the rumble strip) may help.

What type of "speed cameras" do you mean?

Darwinian - if they speed and do not pay attention, be responsible drivers, then nature takes its course. Personal accountability. There are many who drive and ride these roads every day for years in all kinds of weather who never have a problem.

if they were just killing themselves it wouldn't be a problem. They often take others with them. That's a problem.

I believe only one person said Woodside Rd but in the same breath they also said 84, which encompasses La Honda and Woodside. In any case, the article correctly states westbound State Highway 84. Let's just hope the driver is ok.
