55 days since Trump held a press conference - because Trump can no longer defend his lies

Original post made by Freedom of the Press, Atherton: other, on Sep 21, 2016

Besides "blacklisting" national media, Trump has broken all campaign precedent by refusing to allow the traveling press to join him on his plane.

- 55 days have passed since Trump held a press conference

- "blacklisting" national media Web Link

- refusing to allow the traveling press to join him on his plane

It goes on and on. Trump can no longer defend his avalanche of lies. He has to hide from the American and international press until he becomes president and pulls a trick or two he learned from his buddy Putin to silence the press.

This is the guy the GOP want to preach to the world about FREEDOM?!?

Oh, boy.

This is what you get when Conservatives sell their souls to back a game-show host - the leader of the Republican Party is caught lying over 70% of the time.

SEVENTY PERCENT of the time, Trump is lying:

True(4%)
Mostly True (11%)
Half True (14%)
Mostly False (17%)
False (35%)
Pants on Fire(18%)

Maybe when Trump finally talks to the pres (if he does) he can answer for this:

"U.S. intel officials probe ties between Trump adviser and Kremlin"

U.S. intelligence officials are seeking to determine whether an American businessman identified by Donald Trump as one of his foreign policy advisers has opened up private communications with senior Russian officials — including talks about the possible lifting of economic sanctions if the Republican nominee becomes president, according to multiple sources who have been briefed on the issue.

Some of those briefed were “taken aback” when they learned about Page’s contacts in Moscow, viewing them as a possible back channel to the Russians that could undercut U.S. foreign policy, said a congressional source familiar with the briefings but who asked for anonymity due to the sensitivity of the subject. The source added that U.S. officials in the briefings indicated that intelligence reports about the adviser’s talks with senior Russian officials close to President Vladimir Putin were being “actively monitored and investigated.”

Page is a former Merrill Lynch investment banker in Moscow who now runs a New York consulting firm, Global Energy Capital, located around the corner from Trump Tower, that specializes in oil and gas deals in Russia and other Central Asian countries.

Page came to the attention of officials at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow several years ago when he showed up in the Russian capital during several business trips and made provocative public comments critical of U.S. policy and sympathetic to Putin. “He was pretty much a brazen apologist for anything Moscow did,” said one U.S. official who served in Russia at the time.

What a patriotic chap, along with his boss, Trump.

Will Trump take questions from National media after the debate? I hear his handlers will feed him Prozac to keep him on script and take away his Twitter afterwards.

Trump hasn't held a formal press conference since July 27.

What's that - 65 days?

Too many questions for Trump to answer - such as why Pence couldn't defend Trump in last night's debate.

Trump will not face the press before the election.
No way.

Impossible to defend himself. Doubt he does the last two debates after his VP showed him up.

NYT: It's been 72 days since Trump held a presser. He took questions from a limited group 28 days ago. Clinton has taken Qs 9 times in 3 weeks.

Awwww... what do they possibly want to ask him?

Now that all the women he abused and those not held to an NDA or contract will all come out (like Cosby and Ailes) it's over.

Trump will never hold another press conference. Bet on it.

Now to hold those accountable who knew and still supported Trump. Ie. The GOP.

Assault. Abuse. Evil.

Republican leaders around the country are calling for Trump to drop out of the race after his comments about his experiences with sexual assault was published. Trump is resisting for now, but this could easily destroy the party. Maybe Trump just doesn't care about anyone but himself.

Trump has not held a press conference since July. He announced one for this week and canceled it.

Maybe the Almanac can request one.

And he couldn't care less.

The more he "disses" the press, the more his followers like it.

Americans are freaking out about Trump's tweets - omigosh! China! Nuke race with Russia! Boeing!

All just head fakes. Trump's tweets just keep the story off his appointees - Bannon, etc..

Look at "General" Flynn... if Trump gave a press conference, he would be asked about Flynn meeting with the Austrian neo-nazi Austrian Freedom Party, and their representitives being in Trump Tower after the election. Can't give such a clear shot to American media, they might get frisky and ask real questions! Better to distract with ambiguous tweets about nuclear arms race and such!

Trump isn't trying to misdirect you away from other issues like his cabinet appointments.

He simply couldn't care less about what you think.

His side won. Your side lost. Elections have consequences.

Didn't the current guy say that after his victory?

POGO -- "His side won. Your side lost. Elections have consequences."

Like a renewed nuclear arms race?

Wonderful.

Let's hope some of us will be alive in four years' time.

I don't think it is that Trump doesn't care, it's that he knows exactly how to manipulate the press. And it continues to work becasue they are too arrogant to understand they're being played by a master manipulator. Sad really.

Yes:

the press have traditionally held the president's feet to the fire , hopefully preventing him from screwing up. Our current press is more interested in ratings than actual JOURNALISM. Trump knows this and continues to play them with his ridiculous tweets. Instead of paying attention to the real issues of the Trump administration they go after these RIDICULOUS tweets. Thus, the press doesn't ask the important questions.

Troll -

Yes, exactly. I recently saw a meme pointing out to Republicans how after 8 years of President Obama that they still have their guns, are still able to go to church and we aren't being ruled by the United Nations.

As I've said, I didn't vote for Trump and I've been #neverTrump since he announced. I'm concerned about his foreign policy and lack of personal restraint but as with the Republican fears about Obama for the last eight years, the current hyperbole (such as putting Muslims into concentration camps, back alley abortions, nuking China) are seriously overblown.

As with the elections in Europe and recent Republican sweeps nationwide, we were probably due for a correction. Trump isn't my cup of tea and goes too far, but elections have consequences.

Watching the full sweat apoplexy from Democrats these days is still amusing. Everyone knows that roles would be completely reversed if the result were different.
