As a former Menlo Park resident (Willows), I find this both not surprising and troubling. Has it gotten so uncivil that we don't allow signs for opposing views or candidates? Really people? You want to live in a world where dissent or disagreement is discouraged? [Portion removed] Count me out.

I'd be interested to know what the police will do -- a friend had posted a presidential campaign sing in his yard and twice in one day it was taken down. The second time he witnessed the people taking it and the police refused to do anything.

It's sad that America no longer stands for freedom of expression, religion or politics.

Speaking of political parties.... I know Mueller is a Democrat and Carlton is a Republican.

Does anyone know what political party Cecilia Taylor belongs to?

I know local elections are supposes to be apolitical, but I am still curious.

In 2013, DeGolia decided look at the matter differently.

"DeGolia said that in one case, the signs were brought back by police after officers broke up a teen party and found four stolen signs in the backyard. One of his supporters also sent a photo of some students at Sacred Heart High School who had taken some signs and dressed up as DeGolia for Halloween. In that case he said, he was initially upset, but then decided to look at the matter differently." --Daily Post, November 5, 2013
