Town Square

Trump's running mate seals his congressional records to HIDE them from you!

Original post made by Hey! Hide your records!, Menlo Park: other, on Jul 19, 2016

"23 cartons and approximately 70 GB of electronic records" - the public is forbidden from seeing these materials until either Dec. 5, 2022, or the death of the donor ― whichever is later.

Whatcha hiding, Mike Pence?

Trump hides all his tax returns, the first presidential candidate to do so (you can find 30 or 40 years of Clinton tax returns online.)

Pence is a kindred spirit, hiding all his congressional records.

It's a popular way to go for Indiana REPUBLICANS:

"“It’s not standard but it’s not unusual,” Kellams said. When former Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) donated his papers, he gave similar restrictions. He has since reconsidered and opened up some sections of his archives, Kellams said. The papers of former Sen. Birch Bayh (D-Ind.) are completely open."

This is ridiculous. These are the guys whining about the democrat party?
I'm done with them. Doesn't matter in CA anyway.
The last straw was the way they railroaded the CA delegation at the convention. Complete bs.

George W Bush, in April, to a group from his asministration:

"few were as dark about the Republican Party’s future as former President Bush himself. In a more intimate moment during the reunion, surrounded by a smaller clutch of former aides and advisers, Bush weighed in with an assessment so foreboding that some who relayed it could not discern if it was gallows humor or blunt realpolitik.

“I’m worried,” Bush told them, “that I will be the last Republican president.” "

With no Trump tax returns, and Pence sealing his congresional records, thank heavens that Bush is right.

Trump and Pence would be worse than Nixon AND Bush.

Trumps dystopianot vision of America as a dark Gotham is insulting.

>>>The dark portrait of America that Donald J. Trump sketched in his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention is a compendium of doomsday stats that fall apart upon close scrutiny. Numbers are taken out of context, data is manipulated, and sometimes the facts are wrong.

What kind of mindless 'thinker' buys this dark vision? That is a scary question. Scarier answer.

>>>When facts are inconveniently positive — such as rising incomes and an unemployment rate under 5 percent — Trump simply declines to mention them. He describes an exceedingly violent nation, flooded with murders, when in reality, the violent-crime rate has been cut in half since the crack cocaine epidemic hit its peak in 1991.

Today Trump says he never met Putin, but asks him to do espionage against our country, to benefit Trump.

"He said one nice thing about me. He said I'm a genius. I said thank you very much to the newspaper and that was the end of it. I never met Putin," Trump said.

Never met Putin before?

hmmm....

7 months ago: "I got to know him very well because we were both on '60 Minutes,' we were stablemates, and we did very well that night," Trump said

and

Trump also said during a National Press Club luncheon in 2014 that he was in Moscow and he spoke "directly and indirectly with President Putin who could not have been nicer."

Most. Despicable. Republican. Ever.

Khizr and Ghazala Khan told America of their patriotism and love of America, and how their son, Army Captain Khan was killed by a car bomb while serving in Iraq.

It brought tears to any one who watched it. The highlight of either political party, surely the most bi-partisan example of patriotism America can offer - the love of the family of a American fallen in battle.

But to Donald Trump? Most. Despicable. Republican. Ever. He watches it and sees what only a self-absorbed narcissist sees.

ABC News:

"If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say. You tell me."

But gosh, Donald, their sacrifice is beyond measure....

"I think I've made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I've created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures. I've had tremendous success. I think I've done a lot"

What has Trump EVER done that equals the bravery of this US Army Captain? Trumps sacrifice was inheriting money from his daddy? What has Trump dome that allows him to s*** all over this brave patriot's memory and family?

Trump needs to be run out of town.

Run out of politics.

Run out of celebrity reality TV world.

If the GOP continues this farce, they have ceded the moral high ground.

Forever.

Reading about Pence and Trump and their sad words this weekend is depressing.

The only way anyone beats America is by getting us to void our Constitution. Mike Pence wants a religious test on Muslims.

There shall be no religious test...

Pence Trump are playing in to the hands of ISIS.

They are a clear and present danger to our American way of life.
