NRA statement on Dallas missing usual Gun Canard content

Original post made by Stop the insanity, Menlo Park: Park Forest, on Jul 8, 2016

Today's statement did not include the usual NRA comments when another mass shooting takes place:

- the usual "if only the victims had been armed, this could have been avoided" rubbish from the NRA (the officers were armed)

- the usually bemoaned concept of gun-free zones of schools and churches (this wasn't a gun-free zone, people were openly carrying weapons)

- no statement about the need for concealed carry, open carry, & reduced barriers to carry (Texas has all those)

- missing the usual trash about "only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun". Any further use of this meme is a direct attack on the memory of Dallas' finest.

- the NRA statement does not even mention a gun was involved. That's a first.

- also missing from the NRA statement were the names Alton Sterling & Philander Castile

How odd. Philander Castile was a licensed gun owner with concealed carry.

What does Menlo Park think of the NRA? Of most of our country making it so easy to get weapons that can fire so rapidly, of large capacity magazines that enable so many murders so quickly?

What does Menlo Park think of Congress, the leader of which called just yesterday to punish Democrats ("speaker Paul Ryan said on Thursday “all options” were being considered over the possible discipline" of Democrats) for their sit-in to ask for a vote on sensible background checks and other sensible measures to keep our police and all Americans safer?

What do you think? A well regulated militia.....

May God bless the families of those involved in this horrific, and frequent, event. May God Bless those that take peaceful action to prevent further tragedies in the future.

One of Trumps chairmen places 2nd for most disposable statements - Corey Stewart, who is also reported to be planning a run for governor in Virginia in 2017, posted on Facebook as news of the shooting was breaking.

“Liberal politicians who label police as racists—specifically Hillary Clinton and Virginia Lt. Governor Ralph Northam—are to blame for essentially encouraging the murder of these police officers tonight"

Sounds like a Trump brainwashed supporter all right.

Only one worse was thar jerk ex-congressman Joe Walsh. Which were immediately retreated by....

Donald Trump, Jr.

Is the whole family racist? Makes me shudder.

Some really expens8ve guns!

.........

Gun-related deaths and injuries cost $52 billion in 2013 when factoring in lifetime medical and work-loss costs, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Those who make it out alive may need to receive nutrition through an IV for a year or more. Others need follow-up operations or are prescribed pain medication for the rest of their lives. And those are just the costly physical problems.

What about people who can’t easily return to the hospital for their follow-up visits? What about their jobs and income? What happens to them psychologically when they go back into the neighborhood that incubated the problem?

The NRA: "an armed society is a polite society."

The NRA are terrorists, and they support terrorists getting guns. Game recognize game.

So now we fall into the lull between mass shootings/murders (maybe a week?) And folks forget about the tragedies, while we still pay the 50 billion a year for these gun caused disasters.

The lull, until the next mass shooting.

In three, two, one........
