Dr. William Ayres' one of California's Most Prolific Child Molesters Has died

Original post made by Truth, Menlo Park: Menlo Oaks, on May 11, 2016

Former San Mateo child psychiatrist Dr. William Ayres, who evaluated San Mateo juveniles for the courts from 1963-2003, and who had hundreds and hundreds of molestation victims has died.

His death is shrouded in mystery. There were no obituaries, no death notices. Victims were not notified of his death by the San Mateo DA's office. I just happened to learn about it today while looking at a civil suit brought against him by one of his victims. In the letter posted online by Ayres' attorney Constance Yu on May 9, 2016 , she state thats she had learned that "Dr. Doe passed away on April 20 or 21,2016."

You can see the letter online in this case: :Case CIV467273 - MANUEL DOE VS JOHN DOE 1

We don't know if he died in prison or at home. He died three weeks ago, and yet nothing from the San Mateo DA's office on this?

Victims, families and friends of victims have been frantically contacting the San Mateo DA's office for any information on Ayres' death. But no one's calling them back. Let's hope the press can find out what is going on.

One of the things that no one can figure out is whether Ayres was granted medical parole or not. We can't check because transcript medical parole hearings are not accessible to public. Is there any way the Almanac can check to see whether Ayres was in fact granted medical parole so he could die at home ? Everything stated by public officials in San Mateo County on this matter needs to be fact checked independently and thoroughly.

San Mateo Daily Journal has a story up today. Says that Ayres died in prison of natural causes. They didn't get any help from Wagstaffe on this. Reporter said they had a really hard time getting anything from the DA.Death was confirmed by Solano County Coroner's office. Wagstaffe says that the "entire chapter is closed." No, it is not. Victims were not informed- another violation of Marsy's Law. Wagstaffe talked to the press yesterday about some molestation case about some guy named Jose Reyes Lopez who no one's ever heard of but couldn't be bothered to give the victims the courtesy of knowing that Ayres -whose arrest was covered by the New York Times and CNN- died three weeks ago?

William Hamilton Ayres, 84, died of natural causes in prison at the California Medical Facility April 20, according to the Solano County Coroner’s Office.

Excerpt:
District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said his office had yet to receive an official report from the prison, but hopes the victims will find some comfort in knowing that Ayres will never return.
“This is a man who committed horrific acts against innocent victims from a position of authority. He received his just punishment for what he did,” Wagstaffe said. “Now this chapter is closed, this entire book is closed, and now we can let this slip into history and let the victims move on.”

Just think: if a citizen hadn't discovered by sheer fluke yesterday that Ayres had died three weeks ago, the public would still be in the dark about it. In all likelihood Wagstaffe was NEVER going to inform the victims, just as his office has to this day never notified them about Ayres' parole on March 4. It could have been a year before we found out about Ayres' death on our own, if longer. And yet Wagstaffe has the gall to tell the Daily Journal that now victims can"move on" ? It appears that his office made a conscious and horrible decision to defy Marsy's Law. Unbelievable and disturbing and a slap in the case to all victims.
