I would like to see a one page policy statement from each candidate on the main issues,

"educational equality across Menlo Park"
His vision for downtown, Santa Cruz ave. resteraunts, other uses, timing, etc,
RR grade crossing,
HSR,
Increased aircraft noise,

Pick 10 relevant items, put out a 1 page report on each item and Please be specific

We have enjoyed an excellent city council in recent years. I believe Mueller and Carlton played important roles in the city council's performance.

Last election cycle Gail Slocum offered us her "progressive" slate of Drew Combs, Kelly Fergusson, and Kristen Duriseti. Thankfully they all went down in a resounding defeat. 2002 Redux.

Both Ray and Cat have performed admirably. One can hope that Ms. Slocum will stay on the sidelines this election cycle and not offer up more of her far left candidates. Menlo Park is liberal but not insane. Since 2010 Menlo Park has been free of far left candidates and the council has performed very well with centrist council members. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Stay the course with Ray and Cat.

To the person who identifies as Menlo Moderate:

Your post is rich bait to the curious and the logic lovers. So many questions ...

For example, can I infer from your original characterization of the three candidates as a "progressive" slate, and your subsequent characterization of the same as "far left candidates" that you think of "far left" and "progressive" as identical political positions?

Also, if memory serves, Gail Slocum was on the city council in the early 1990s. Maybe I'm not hooked into the political goings-on in town as much as I should be, but what did Slocum have to do with the three candidates in question? Is she still active in politics? If so, does she really wield so much power? Or is her name just one more hot button that people who don't like "far left" and "progressive" residents like to push to incite?

And one last thing: "Moderate"? Really?

A platform of reducing City red-tape and over-zealous hirings would be very welcome. I doubt Cat and Ray make that their agenda.

Gail Slocum endorsed Ray Mueller for City Council in 2012, and according this Almanac article she has already endorsed him for re-election in 2016.
