Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year?

Question: I've noticed that most Asian people are saying "Happy Chinese New Year" today, while white people are often saying "Happy Lunar New Year". Is "Lunar New Year" an attempt to make the day more inclusive? Or is this more like FOX NEWS' "war on Christmas"?
