Being pro-choice should be nonpartisan. Unfortunately it is not. Everyone sold support a woman's right to control what happens to her body and her life.

People forget that the original Roe v Wade decision had limitations which centered on the "viability" of the fetus. The court ruled that government could regulate abortion beginning with the third trimester, even forbid it, to protect a viable fetus.
That limitation has gone by the wayside. Sometimes a slippery slope is slippery.
Most polling shows that Americans are overwhelmingly against late term abortions (which are admittedly rare) but pro-choice advocates refuse to allow the imposition of even modest limits. In that regard, I see little difference between them and gun rights activists who refuse to allow the imposition of modest limits on gun licensing.
