A real loss. Had he remained in office he would have opposed the current extremely high density plan to develop El Camino.

He would have insisted that there be fewer offices, more housing, and more retail. He really cared about supporting a residential community for everyone.

One of the few council members to exhibit integrity (no junkets to China on his watch) and a relentless commitment to serving the community, responsive to anyone and everyone who came to him with an issue, even if he sometimes took some political heat. He was one-of-a-kind and we will miss him...more than some of you may realize now.

I'm posting a comment on the sudden passing of Andy Cohen. I'm saddened and shocked by this sudden event. We both had one man practices in Workers Comp for years and saw each other in court on a regular basis and this continued after his appointment as a WC judge.

After his retirement we lost contact but I always kept up with his political activities in Menlo Park. Andy was a good man, always ready to protect the rights of the injured worker as an attorney and judge. Good by, Andy; you will be missed!

Many years ago Andy helped me with a legal issue and didn't charge me a dime. That was such a generous gift and so very like him. I was so grateful then, and I am still grateful for his generousity today. Thank you, Andy, may you rest in peace.

Andy was a close neighbor. He introduced himself by knocking at my door with a gift of Jamba Juice when we first became neighbors. He was always a thoughtful, kind, and generous neighbor and friend. Andy's gentle manner, wisdom, and positive perspective echo though the memories of those who were fortunate to have known him. His passing is a weighty loss for our community. Let's honor his memory by continuing to care for those in most need. May he rest in peace.

Fair sailing, Andy. You were a gentleman who placed the good and the need's of the community before your own personal desires and ambition..

Thank you.

Andy mentored me for seven years when I worked for him in his law office, and we kept in touch in the 33 years since then. During those four decades, Andy never slowed down in his concern for the working person and the underdog and in his desire to fight for justice in the world. He was an inspiration to many.

i knew "Andy" off and on from 1975
when he had an office on California Avenue in Palo Alto

a very kind sweet person ..
very sad to hear he's gone ..
he liked Elvis Costello ..
we went to see David Byrne & St. Vincent
a few years ago in San Francisco ..
i saw him a few times at his home
over the last few years ..

During my years living in Menlo Park, I found Andy to be a caring friend and a real asset to Menlo Park.
