Atherton council approves civic center conceptual plan

Why all the secrecy? We should have regular reports about the amount of funding to date. If funding is not forthcoming as planned, we should know what contingency plans the Council has to finance the project.

Degolia and Lewis want to make sure the plans are approved before the voters are told they have to pay for it through taxes instead of through private donations that never materialized. This way no scaling back can occur, for example, on the enormous police building being built complete with a full gymnasium, etc. Lewis has to pay them back for having gotten her elected after all.

Why won't Degolia just state the amount of donations raised so far and be honest?

Suggest you designate a person to discuss w/ someone at Face Book. They have been great neighbors, more than willing to help, and will probably give great suggestions if you really want to build this for the future.

A phone call from the mayor and it will start the ball rolling.
