Spare the Air alert issued Monday for Bay Area

A Spare the Air Smog Alert has been issued for Monday due to unhealthy levels of smog and smoke in the air, and residents are being advised both to limit their exposure to the unhealthy conditions and avoid making them worse.

the article says to walk or bike instead of driving a car--however, it also says to stay indoors and not do any activities. one of these doesn't seem to go with the other.
