Menlo Park man sentenced to year in jail for drunken driving

A Menlo Park man pleaded no contest to one count of felony drunken driving in a case involving collisions with several vehicles and a roadside electrical box in January 2015, according to prosecutors.

"In a comprehensive plea bargain with Criminal Presiding Judge Leland Davis, Daniel Edward Gere, 74, also pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor drunken driving cases."

David, did you mean "drunken driving charges"? Or, were there 3 separate incidents?

Editor's note: The DA said: "... the defendant also pleaded nolo contendere to two pending and separate misdemeanor drunk driving cases..."

Seems appropriate.

I only hope that Mr. Gere upholds his end of the bargain ... but I'm skeptical that he is even capable.
