It seems that La Mesa Drive in Ladera is being targeted by package thieves and mail box thieves. A while back I reported a package theft from my porch and the police said they would do drive-bys. Apparently the police presence hasn't been enough to deter the thieves.
I appeal to Portola Valley residents to be on the look out for suspicious behavior.

My former housekeeper worked for me for three years and then decided to rob me, using her boyfriend to help steel my car, artwork, silver, etc. She was caught and sentenced, serving one year in jail. When she got out, she walked my neighborhood going door to door looking for jobs. Some nerve! When my neighbor questioned this woman, asking her how she dared come back here, the answer was, "I've done my time and learned my lesson". Can you imagine? Nobody hired her, to my knowledge.
