We have a small home on a 50 X 120 - foot lot in University Heights, near Alameda de los Pulgas. Unfortunately we get our water from Bear Gulch, along with Atherton, Woodside, and Portola Valley. Our water use is modest and thrifty, but we are apparently being punished for the heavy water use by residents of those other cities. Shouldn't there be some flexibility in the proposed mandatory reductions, based on the size and usage history of smaller households with smaller acreage?

Editor's note:

● It's not known how Cal Water might allocate the cuts across the Bear Gulch District, and that's unlikely to be known until the State Water Resources Control Board issues its final ruling. The 36 percent cut in the Bear Gulch District is a proposal. Here is a link to a state water board fact sheet with information on how to submit comments on the proposals: Web Link
