I agree with the opposition. The town has no business whatsoever in third party contract administration. The calculation will not include the intangible costs, such as the time wasted by the Council and town administration and public in discussing this project, executing it, trouble-shooting and possible liability.
McDonalds franchises are also profitable; many more than $30,000/year. That does not mean that town administration should start operating a McDonalds.
This makes no sense. Town administration should focus on town matters.

Amen. If Atherton has resources to work on other city's projects, we're overstaffed. Cut the staff.

Would be totally improper for Atherton city government to enter into third party contracts that have nothing to do with managing Atherton. What is George thinking as well as Wiest, Lempres thinking? We come to expect stupid decisions by Billy Widmer.
Keep your eye on the ball witness your laundry list of projects currently under review for the council to consider. Just amazing!

I think more money can be earned by having the Atherton police department serve as actors in the new Paul Blaart Mall Cop movie.
