Is it true that the city is refusing to consider the option of elevating the tracks to create grade separations throughout the city? This option is working well in other parts of the county. Leaving the tracks alone and building a bridge or tunnel for the streets will make the streets more dangerous and difficult for pedestrians.

There are better ideas than elevating the tracks. see other thread.
undergrounding with use of at-ground land and air rights would gain excellent revenue ONGOING, and prevent the permanent blight of a dividing wall within our town (not to mention takings of land from fellow citizens). If European cities can do this, Menlo Park ought to be able to. Undergrounding is the best long term solution, so just do it.
