Letter: Sequoia Healthcare District vote a rejection of Hickey's platform?

Yes, Jerry Shefren is an "excellent board member". He did once abstain from a vote on increased healthcare benefits from which "sitting" directors Faro, Kane and Griffin benefitted. He was re-elected by a margin of ~3,000 votes. My second place finish left Faro trailing by more than 1500 votes with John McDowell close behind. Mark De Paula had a respectable vote count of more than 11,000.
Absent the strategically timed mailing of the annual report, a thinly disguised piece of "electioneering", Faro would have lost to McDowell, and I might have overtaken Shefren.
Nevertheless, it is clear that voters trust Shefren to do the right thing. And, by their votes for me, they indicated their support for a resolution of the "transitional" status of the district.
I am awaiting a response from President Shefren to my request to place an item on the December agenda to deal with that issue.
