Five architectural firms are competing to design Atherton's new civic center. On Wednesday, Nov. 5, the City Council will discuss what it would like to see in the architects' proposals.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Taxpayers have to pay for various architects etc. when not a penny has been raised for this town center via private donations, as advertised. Get a base of donations first. There's something strange about all of this.
