Isn't Greenheart planning a large apartment complex on 6.5 acres near Facebook?
BTW here's info on the face of Greenheart, one of its principals Bob Burke.
Web Link
Does the fact that the company is donating to Rich Cline, Kristen Keith and Peter Ohtaki preclude them from voting on any issues dealing with 1300 El Camino and the Willow Rd apartment complex? If not, it should.

Greenheart's Hamilton Ave project is underway, right next to the new Facebook building, also underway. Interesting question raised about conflict of interest for council members receiving developer campaign donations.

The fact is that Greenheart is not contributing directly to the candidates. What you are referring are non-monitary contributions. We live is a free country, where people have a right to political free speech. If Green decides to spend money on something that promotes a candidate, they must report this, and they did.

Is it possible to buy an election in MP for only $200,000? That's a pretty cheap investment, compared to land, material, and labor for development. That would be a truly stolen election and a bargain development project!
We donate a bit for some of our more ethical politicians (Rich Gordon, Joe Simitian, etc.) but I've never understood how to reap our "investment." Maybe after the hilariously misnamed "Greenheart" company has finished their maximum build-out of our town, they can start a new business consulting for us lowly residents on how to buy politicians for our own benefit.
So disgusted with the current "pay to play" political climate....and the general new-money concept around here that riches let you avoid inconvenient democratic processes and existing laws.

It is interesting that the Measure M zealots believe that someone who has invested millions of dollars into the community and wants to invest a lot more should not participate in informing voters about the very damaging effect of Measure M on that property owner's interests.
Informing voters in no way obstructs the democratic process but rather a crucial activity.
Measure M is clearly hoping for a low turnout election and that most voters will stay home - that is not going to happen.
Measure M has chosen ignorance as their ally - a very poor choice.

So what is the problem with the contribution. Free speech. Oh, not an Atherton resident??? Too bad, vote No on M

Kaz:
Rich Gordon "ethical"? Surely you jest. Gordon is an organized labor lackey. One only need look at his voting record to confirm that.

@menlo voter.
now i know gordon is a good guy, thanks.
(meaning he is not a corporate shill)
@peter carpenter.
are they informing voters? or lying to the voters to reap a greedy profit for themselves? my guess is the latter.

Your guess is WRONG. Look at my postings - 90% of them are citations from official sources. If you have better information, or ANY information, then please post it.

If you think the HSR boondoggle is good for California then I guess I understand why you think Gordon is a great guy. In my estimation he is a shill/lackey of organized labor. No matter what they want and how harmful it may be for our state, he's still for it. If that's ok with you then we agree to disagree.
