Wow, so sad that tree had to be cut down. Fremont Park will seem barren without it. Are there any plans to perhaps plant redwoods in its place? ; )

I overheard my high school daughter and her friend lamenting that the tree had been cut down. I'm sure many who had memories of that tree felt the same upon seeing it cut down. That tree, with its crazy limbs and placement in the park, was enchanting and the loveliest backdrop for those who go there often. Because it's such an attraction there are always children running around it, so if it was a danger then I'm glad it was removed. I would have hated if its legacy was one of damage. But I do hope the city holds true to its word and uses the wood. It would be great to have benches or other furniture made and returned once again to Fremont Park.
