So glad to hear that the pedestrian hit in the Ravenswood crosswalk wasn't more seriously injured.

That Ravenswood/Laurel intersection has gotten really dangerous--there are tons of cars trying to leave the neighborhood due to gym/library/childcare/sports practices (not to mention neighborhood residents!) On weekdays during rush hour, you also have a lot of people (especially SRI employees) crossing to and from work.

I myself have more than once tried to make a left turn there and found myself face to face with a pedestrian in the crosswalk--and this is after looking and being (I hope) pretty situationally aware (e.g. not on my phone, not talking to anyone in the car, etc.)

I really wish the city would consider installing left turn signals for cars trying to make it from Laurel onto Ravenswood (in either direction). I'm sure there are either cost or logistical reasons why they haven't considered this but from my perspective, offering a protected left turn and then having a crossing signal for pedestrians would make things a lot safer.

Unless someone was given or offered the cookies without being told they had pot in them, I really don't see how three high school kids getting stoned on a Friday is newsworthy.
